Accessibility

Our goal

We want everyone to be able to use HYSACalc.com, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we have done

We use semantic headings so the page structure makes sense to screen readers. We added a skip link so keyboard users can jump past the navigation bar. Every control on the site works with a keyboard alone, including the calculator. Focus indicators stay visible when you tab through the page. Every form field has a clear label. We check color contrast against WCAG targets. The site respects your reduced motion setting. Text reflows when you zoom in, so nothing gets cut off.

What we test with

We run automated accessibility checks on our pages. We also test by hand, using only a keyboard to move through the site and the calculator.

Known gaps

We review the site on an ongoing basis. Some issues may still remain, since no site is perfect. If you find a problem, please tell us. Your report helps us fix it faster.

No overlay

We do not use an accessibility overlay or accessibility widget. These tools often make things worse for people who use screen readers and other assistive technology. We fix accessibility issues directly in our code instead.

How to report a problem

Email anthony@anvilroad.com and describe the page and the problem you found. We aim to reply within 5 business days.
